Lawn Maintenance
Mowing Service
Our mowing service is tailored to the specific needs of tall fescue. Here are the considerations we take and the benefits you receive:
-
We mow at a height of 3.5 inches, and up to 4.5 inches during dry summer conditions. This higher cut height protects your lawn by promoting deeper root growth, which improves drought resistance. It also helps shade the soil, reducing water evaporation and discouraging weed growth.
-
We use sharp mower blades. Dull blades tear grass, leaving ragged ends that make the lawn more susceptible to disease and pests. Our sharp blades ensure a clean cut, helping your grass recover quickly and look greener and healthier.
-
Bagging grass is available upon request for an additional fee. While leaving clippings on the lawn can return valuable nutrients to the soil, we understand that you may prefer a bagged service for a cleaner appearance or to prevent thatch buildup.
Fall Aeration Service
Our aeration service is a crucial part of our maintenance plan, ensuring your lawn stays robust for years to come. Here are the considerations we take and the benefits you receive:
-
We perform core aeration in the fall. This is the ideal time because fescue grass begins to spend more energy on its roots, allowing it to recover quickly from the aeration process.
-
Aeration pulls small plugs of soil from your lawn. This process breaks up compacted soil, allowing air, water, and nutrients to penetrate the root zone more effectively. This results in stronger, deeper roots and a thicker, more resilient lawn.
-
Seed can be added to your aeration service for an additional fee. Adding new seed after aeration takes full advantage of the loosened soil, providing an ideal environment for germination and helping to fill in any bare or thin spots.
