The Community Care Project: A Question for Our Neighbors
From Ice Storms to Impact: A Community Vision I have lived here for 22 years, and the recent ice storm changed my perspective. Amidst the stress, I read a corporate report from a locally operating big box store complaining that a "lack of storms" was hurting their profits. That was my turning point. While Serious Lawn will continue providing the professional services you rely on, I refuse to view disaster merely as a sales opportunity—I also view it as a chance to serve. We are exploring a sustainable addition to our operations where the cost of a single coffee ($7/mo) can fund full-service care for our elderly and disabled neighbors. This initiative would run alongside our regular business, creating new local jobs and operating under a separate state registration to ensure absolute transparency. The Gap We See Every Season We constantly receive calls from neighbors who have spent a lifetime caring for their homes but—due to age, disability, or health issues—can no longer do the work. They risk injury trying to shovel snow or mow grass just to avoid municipal fines, simply because they cannot afford professional rates. The Solution: People Over Profit I want to build a sustainable model to help them—and I’m curious if you are with me. The Investment: If just 350 people chipped in $7 a month (the cost of one 7Brew or Starbucks), we could fund full-service care for at least 12 neighbors in desperate need. The Impact: Your small contribution doesn't just cut grass; it provides safety, dignity, and peace of mind. The Growth: As more people join, we can expand the service area and hire local crews specifically to manage these properties, creating jobs right here in our community. Transparency & Trust (If We Move Forward) We are not asking for money yet—we are simply collecting data to gauge interest. However, we know trust is earned. If the community supports this, here is the structure we will use: State Registration: We will register this initiative as a separate entity with the State to ensure full legal compliance. Separate Accounts: Contributions will be held in a dedicated bank account, completely isolated from Serious Lawn’s general operating funds. Accountability: We will provide annual reports to all contributors detailing exactly how much was raised and how many properties were serviced. We Need Your Feedback We need to know if there are enough people willing to support this to make it viable. Please fill out the form below to let us know if you would stand with us in this mission. I will personally follow up with everyone who responds to share the results.
